The mission of DVcon is to educate and connect authors & illustrators who have been historically underrepresented and marginalized in the book publishing industry. Featuring a diverse faculty as well as #DVpit alum, DVcon will offer informative workshops, fun micro-content, and our additional focus will be on community-building and forging connections. Our videos will be recorded and available to watch after the conference ends. This way, if you miss anything, you can watch the recording or read the advice later. Admire our organizing team. You do not have to be agented, published, or even have a manuscript yet; this event welcomes authors and illustrators at every level.
The inaugural conference took place January 30-31, 2021. You can view our YouTube sessions from Day 1 and content from Day 2. Our 2022 conference takes place January 19-23, 2022. View the program here.

Interested in donating? You can do so here. DVcon is a program of the 501c3 nonprofit organization DiverseVoices, Inc.
DVcon was created for marginalized voices that have been historically underrepresented in publishing. This includes (but is not limited to): Native peoples and people of color; disabled persons (including invisible disabilities); people on marginalized ends of the cultural and/or religious spectrum; people identifying within LGBTQIA+; and more. Any decisions regarding eligibility are yours to make. Creators are not obligated to disclose anything they do not feel comfortable with and their work need not reflect their identity, though that is certainly welcome!
